@lenadunham stylist @handler.official came to us wanting custom jewelry for her Met Gala look, and we were so honored! ❤️ For initial direction, they wanted an earring that was an ode to a dagger but not as literal as a sword. So we designed custom earrings and a ring without seeing the full look, and discovered the magnificent story on the carpet. Her @maisonvalentino by @alessandro_michele , inspired by “Judith Slaying Holofernes”, translated the painting’s intensity into sweeping red feathers to represent the dramatic blood in the painting which is renowned for its raw, dramatic, and violent depiction of the biblical heroine Judith beheading an Assyrian general.   We are so grateful to work with Michael on her return to the Met Gala carpet for the first time since 2019!
