One of our favorite Met Gala moments ever tonight 🥹💫 Icon @badgalriri stepped out on the red carpet in our custom metal pin curls - last week Rihanna’s long time hairstylist, @yusefhairnyc came to us with a vision of creating pieces that gave the illusion of hair, but in mixed metals for an industrial feel. He wanted to slick the hair tightly back to the head and create pin curls or finger waves from metal. Jennifer hand-crafted forty wire curls in varying shapes to be placed across the head—some shaped to lay on the forehead. The wire was hand-formed into individual pieces, plated in a dark bronze metal, and then hand-painted with gold to give the metal varied dimension. Swarovski crystals in champagne and black diamond were wired onto half of the curls for a bit of sparkle to match her gown. Yusef then pinned each of the pieces into her hair and layered them for maximum shine. It turned out so beautifully and we are incredibly honored to collaborate with Yusef on these pieces together!!!
