When does it permanently bend ? We wanted to see how much force we could apply to the Lappas Jurassic Tortoise before plastic deformation took place. The Lappas hanger is an improved version of the CMI Bolt Hanger, so we tested that hanger too. They both started bending around 20 kN. We tested both hangers on the Slacksnap utm set to the same settings using the same fixtures. The hangers are rated very similarly. The CMI hanger fully failed at 78% (35.06 kN/44.48 KN) of its rated minimum breaking strength, which is consistant with previous tests we have conducted. The Lappas Jurassic Tortoise hanger achieved 136% (61.60 kN/45 kN) of its rated MBS. We even had to move it to a larger machine to get full failure after the Slack snap UTM pulled it to 44.64 kN.
