Italy’s highest court has ruled that people who were Italian citizens from birth do not automatically lose that citizenship if a parent later became a citizen of another country while they were still minors. The decision strengthens certain citizenship-by-descent claims that had previously been denied under the so-called “minor issue,” although Italy’s separate 2025 citizenship law limiting eligibility through more distant generations remains in effect and is not overturned by this ruling.🇮🇹👨🏻‍⚖️
