WAY back in 1993 we opened our doors for business as a small, family owned/operated sports nutrition company born and based in Berkeley, CA, and founded on the principle of feeding the need to move. Fast forward 33 years and our products, and company values, echo across the globe. Today we got a message from our friends in Ukraine 🇺🇦 @guenergylab.ua that reminded us of our beginnings, why we do what we do, and that movement in outdoor spaces is transformational. - We are beyond thrilled to share some monumental news from the international ultra-trail scene! Our incredible athlete, Daria Bodnar @ramule_d , has achieved a historic and phenomenal victory at the grueling @swisspeakstrail. Daria took on one of the toughest mountain races in the world and came out on top. She conquered the massive 640 km course (with a staggering 43,800m+ of elevation gain)! Daria showcased extraordinary mental grit, resilience, and physical endurance across the Swiss Alps. Daria displayed absolute dominance on the course, securing a massive gap of nearly 13 hours (specifically 12 hours, 41 minutes, and 59 seconds) ahead of the second-place female finisher, who clocked in at 179:38:48. She crossed the finish line with an incredible time of 166:56:49 Throughout her preparation and relentless hours on the trail, GU Energy gels, chews, and hydration tabs have been right there with her, keeping her fueled through every brutal climb and technical descent. This victory is a massive milestone not only for Daria but for our entire community.
