The Underachievers are back and hip-hop is better for it. The Brooklyn duo emerged in 2013 with ‘Indigoism,’ a psychedelic blog era favorite released at a moment when a new wave of New York rap was bubbling up. In 2025, the duo of Issa Gold and AKTHESAVIOR released their first project in 5 years, aptly titled ‘Homecoming.’ The Underachievers performed two new songs and two ‘Indigoism’ classics for us in this very special edition of Medium Sized Backyard that was forced inside by the rain 🪴🌧️ This is “Gold Soul Theory.
