A Met Gala look. Brought to life by @zacposen for @lauraharrier. When Zac was researching this year’s Met Gala exhibition theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” his design for actress Laura Harrier got personal. Inspiration came from Laura’s archival family photos, showing her father and grandfather in beautiful suits. Their stylish presentation was their highest form of expression — and resilience. Important emotional elements of this year’s gala. “Dandyism was both a form of rebellion and a uniform of entry,” said Zac. “I wanted to honor that dichotomy by applying a sculptural technique to tailoring — treating a pant look with the reverence I typically reserve for a gown.” The result: a look with the utmost craftsmanship and a story to tell.
