To the phenomenal midwife who stood by my side for 10 months, nurturing, reassuring and empowering me - I’ll never be able to express just how grateful I am for you @thenestinghub 🩷 For some reason, I thought if I took off my eye mask in labour, it would hurt more 😂 so poor Gail had to endure me yelling “GAIL!” at every contraction… for a solid 20 hours. Hux’s birth didn’t go as planned, but it healed so much of me. It unravelled the “broken body” story I’d been carrying since Zadie’s birth, and I honestly put so much of that down to having a midwife who never once doubted me 🙏 Happy International Midwives Day (for yesterday) to every midwife changing lives daily.
