Tomorrow, in observance of Juneteenth, the entire Flamingo Estate team — from the office and warehouse to Fresh Food, the garden, and the kitchen — has the day off. We will not send emails or run ads. Pencils down. And for the hundreds of homes receiving Farm Boxes or flowers this week: they are arriving today, a day early. This week’s Farm Box was curated by Diego Moya of @littlemountainsb - one of the most thoughtful chefs cooking in Santa Barbara. Diego was born in Chile and raised on Long Island, where his family ran a pizzeria. He cooked his way through kitchens in Lima, Bangkok, Paris, and New York, including the legendary L’Arpège. Diego has chosen the first watermelons, Sun Gold tomatoes, Monterey strawberries, eggplants, asparagus, purple bell peppers, and much more. There are fresh herbs, eggs from Munak Ranch, a loaf of charcoal sourdough from @oat_bakery , Cantabrian anchovies in smoked organic extra-virgin olive oil from @siesta_co , and our Guajillo Rose Salt to bring everything together around the grill. Happy eating, Los Angeles x Richard
