when art became my “job” I always had this nagging fear that I would begin to dread it and honestly at times I do. Some days {or even weeks} the thought of picking up a brush and creating feels impossible…that’s usually when I lean into my sketchbook and content, I feel like this gives my brain a break, a new challenge, and permission to have some fun. I think the greatest lessons I’ve learned since quitting my corporate job two years ago to pursue my dream is to make bad art. make art you think is ugly and wild. make art that is purely for the sake of fun. make art that holds a secret so personal to you, no one will ever know what it is but you…I guess what I’m trying to say is at the end of the day, even if creating is your job, make sure you create for yourself too and keep it fun. #sketchbook #fulltimeartist
