Vintage has always been one of my biggest sources of inspiration. Some of the best ideas come from finding an old piece and studying all the little things that make it special — the fabric, the wash, the proportions, the way it's worn in over time. Japan takes vintage to another level. The shops are incredible, and the curation is unlike anywhere else. You can spend hours digging through old military pieces, denim, workwear, and surf gear and still feel like you've barely scratched the surface. Whenever I'm here, I'm looking for the unexpected details that spark an idea. Sometimes it's a pocket shape or a faded color. Sometimes it's just the feeling of a piece that's gotten better with age. That love of vintage has been part of Faherty from the very beginning, so hunting for inspiration in Japan is pretty much my idea of a perfect day.
