Chef Michael Cimarusti’s tasting menu restaurant, Providence (@providencela), received three Michelin stars at the 2025 Michelin Guide California ceremony, held June 25 in Sacramento, making it one of two restaurants in Los Angeles with the prestigious designation. The only other restaurant in Los Angeles with three stars is Somni, which also received a three-star designation at the 2025 Michelin ceremony. Cimarusti first opened Providence with business partner Donato Poto in 2005, serving a tasting menu of standard-bearing seafood. It received its first Michelin star when the guide first arrived to Los Angeles in 2008 and was upgraded to two stars in 2009.
