Introducing: All that She Survey’s, a commissioned artwork by Susan Kellaway, now available online. I first came across @susankellaway.studio work on Instagram. Her paintings are playful and seductive at first glance but beneath that sweetness lies something sharper. A phone call later (and a truly excellent Northern accent), it was clear: Susan doesn’t just paint, she tells stories. Her paintings feel both historical and mischievously modern, which made her the perfect person to reinterpret a subject as loaded as the odalisque. We commissioned Susan, in a new initiative for D&D, to paint her interpretation of the odalisque. Our brief was intentionally minimal. Just two lines: “On the seventh day there was rest.” “An odalisque for today.” She created the work entirely in her own style, with no further creative direction. The resulting painting is now available through our website, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the artist herself.
