#DesignOfTheWeek | The Tripp Trapp is a design classic that grows with you ✨ In 1972, designer Peter Opsvik set out to solve a simple problem: his young son had outgrown his highchair but still couldn’t comfortably sit at the table. The solution was a bold rethink of children’s seating built around ergonomics, adaptability and family connection. Its distinctive Z-shaped wooden frame provides stability, while the adjustable seat and footplates allow it to evolve from infancy to adulthood. The concept was simple, and brilliantly future-proof. Over time, accessories like newborn supports and baby sets expanded its use, but the core design remains virtually unchanged. With millions sold worldwide, it’s become a staple of Scandinavian design and proof that children’s furniture doesn’t have to be temporary. Photo credit: Peter Opsvik
