#ArchitectureFriday | Teahouse Tetsu is the perfect balance of tradition and fantasy 🌸 This traditional Japanese teahouse, with a whimsical twist, was designed by architect and historian Terunobu Fujimori. Completed in 2006, it is located at Kiyoharu Art Village in Hokuto City, Japan. Inside, the teahouse is simple, restrained and modern, with beautifully framed views through its wooden sliding doors and shutters. Outside, its organic form feels almost as though it has been lifted from a Hayao Miyazaki film. Designed by Fujimori, who represented Japan at the Venice Biennale, Teahouse Tetsu is a wonderful example of how traditional Japanese architecture can be reimagined through a playful and highly imaginative lens. ⁠⁠📷 Akihisa Masuda
