For Chelsea, drifting has always been about pushing the limits. He drives 11/10 and it’s super exciting. From the outside it may be hard to understand but the whole reason we drift is for that feeling you get after pushing hard and pulling off a crazy run. It gives you a feeling I cannot describe with words. Drifting without pushing starts to feel like kick flipping the same stair set over and over again, or even driving to work. From the stands it’s still cool but as a driver you feel empty. In this podcast Chelsea goes on to talk about his concept of Freestyle Drifting. I’ve never liked the term “Grassroots Drifter” or “Style Drifter” Freestyle is such a better description. Drifting is supposed to be fun, and whichever avenue you’re having fun with, that’s your path. Chelsea proved he could take the crown, but for him drifting at the highest level means something else and that era is just beginning.
