Custom shift knob heading home to live on a @coolerworx shifter. This one's 3D printed with an @elegoo Mars 5 Ultra, then hand painted. Base layer is @totalboat Thickset epoxy and @eyecandypigments Ninja Black pigment. Then clear casted with TB Fathom and finally topped with their Tabletop epoxy. Sunday funday. I use @totalboat High Performance with slow cure for a seal coat. Most of this gets sanded back to 1500+ once it’s dry, and then I apply @walrusoil Furniture Butter with a non-abrasive white scotch brite pad. This process works for me. And I’m not kidding when I say the camera doesn’t do the figure in this roasted birdseye maple justice. Stay to see them at night 🖤 . . This isn’t the first time I made moon phases, but it is the first time that the entire cradled panel is engulfed in epoxy. . Each side had to be rotated and laid horizontal for a good level pour. . It wasn’t easy, and it def took a few unexpected outcomes for me to find the right way to do it. . These also were made with a Matte Black pigment; so so dark, you could see any impurity. . . . I’m always trying to find ways to push my capabilities, even the smallest changes create different outcomes. . . I’m so grateful to be given the opportunity to create special artwork for someone.
