Deleted character from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) 🎬️ Naomi - Joel’s ex-girlfriend - was a character played by Ellen Pompeo, but her scenes were deleted from the final cut of the film. Naomi was intended to offer more context about Joel’s emotional state and his reluctance to engage with others before meeting Clementine. In the deleted scenes, Naomi and Joel relationship is portrayed as distant and emotionally unfulfilling. Her presence helped contrast Joel’s intense connection with Clementine. The filmmakers ultimately chose to remove her scenes to keep the focus tightly on the relationship between Joel and Clementine, streamlining the narrative and emotional impact.

Locations in and around New York City, from Michel Gondry’s “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” (2004) 🎬️ The film transforms familiar New York settings - like Montauk’s beach in the Hamptons and Grand Central Station - through a surreal, dreamlike lens. Filmed in the peak of winter, production often stretched up to 17 hours a day, with the cast and crew braving brutal temperatures that dipped as low as -14 degrees Celsius.

La Haine (1995) was originally filmed in colour but was changed to black & white in post-production by director Mathieu Kassovitz. Kassovitz, intended it to feel like a stark, documentary-like portrayal of the issues rather than a glamorous depiction of urban life.
