They were supposed to be Ukrainian drones. A blood-red fireworks display marked the end of today’s celebrations in Moscow. From a distance, it looked like a fire with explosions which seriously frightened residents who weren’t at Red Square at the time. Locals shared in regional forums that until they read it was just fireworks, they genuinely thought it was a drone attack.

🇬🇧 Britain has imposed the largest package of sanctions against russia today. Restrictions have been imposed against the russian “shadow fleet” – almost 100 russian oil tankers. Happy Victory Day!

This is a circus I’d like to see Author: @hog.faces

Provocation underway? Today, a drone strike hit a government building in the Belgorod region and the deputy governor was injured, reports regional head Vyacheslav Gladkov. A Rosgvardiya officer was also wounded by shrapnel. Well before this date, there were warnings that the FSB was planning terrorist attacks in Russian cities ahead of May 9 to blame Ukraine and derail negotiations.

On May 9, right by the Russian border, the Narva Museum in Estonia put up a banner that read, “Putler – war criminal.” It was a clear response to the decorations and large screen set up on the Russian side, where a military parade was being broadcast earlier that day.

Guess who showed up at the parade?

It all comes down to this: the world says “Never again”, and Russia shouts back “We can do it again” louder every year.

Love it

On Tuesday, British Army veteran and longtime Ukraine volunteer Chris ‘Swampy’ Garrett was killed by a Russian improvised explosive device in the Kharkiv region. Swampy had served in Ukraine since 2014 as a combat veteran, deminer, and founder of the humanitarian group Prevail NGO. His fearless work in explosive ordnance disposal saved countless lives. Rest in peace, Swampy — your courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. “Clearing mines is great. Your world shrinks to a small box of ground in front of you.” — Swampy

When asked directly if he considered Putin a war criminal, Bessent replied: “Yes”.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II in Ukraine. Eighty years ago, the Allied forces stopped a genocidal dictator who sought to dominate Europe, costing the lives of tens of millions. The world vowed “Never again.” But that promise has been broken. Today, we witness another tyrant attempting to erase a nation, waging a brutal war that threatens all of Europe and has already taken countless lives. History is repeating itself before our eyes. We must remember the lessons of the past: evil does not stop on its own. It must be confronted, resisted, and defeated. Only through unity can we protect freedom and ensure that “never again” truly means never again.

I don't know if this is real, but if it isn't, it should be, and probably will be

Putin’s three-day truce has begun. The sky over Ukraine is clear.

Trump has officially proclaimed May 8 as Victory Day over Nazism in World War II.

Can you imagine this? Trump believes that allowing Russia’s national team to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup could serve as an incentive to end the war in Ukraine. Yes, during a meeting of the task force preparing for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by Mexico, the U.S., and Canada, Trump said he had no idea that Russia had been banned from international football competitions.

My God… The people killed by Russia today were a family of animal rescuers. In their burned apartment rescuers found the bodies of two people and five cats they had cared for. But this little one survived… Thrown out into the yard by the blast wave. Video by @karg.kyiv
