An incredible day LUMI x PELOTON after the London Marathon. It’s not my everyday job - but it’s my everyday passion. I get asked if I actually like ice baths or if I’m just supporting Gav, but honestly it’s so much deeper than that. It’s just a huge bonus that we get to experience this together. I’ll always be in awe of what @gavinteague ‘s built🧊 This brand, this community and the space for people to experience cold therapy at its finest because there’s something it unlocks - something I can’t quite put my finger on. All I know is it’s revolutionary. It wakes up a part of you that you can’t reach any other way. Did you know that in the first 30 seconds of an ice bath your body instantly goes into fight or flight? Every instinct is screaming to jump out. But if you stay, if you breathe through it, that’s where the MAGIC is. On Monday, we guided marathon runners through their ice baths (for a lot of them it was their first time). And while it might seem like a simple thing, it’s honestly anything but. Both mentally & physically it’s tough. It’s brutal. It takes resilience. And after running a marathon, they still found the strength to go again, to lean into discomfort and trust the process. Honestly, it felt emotional. There’s something about watching someone face themselves in that moment. The fear, the adrenaline, the breakthrough. It’s powerful in a way that’s hard to explain. Yesterday reminds me why I love Lumi & cold therapy so much. It reminds me why I’ll never stop believing in it. I’ll never stop doing it. It isn’t a fad, it’s not a craze, it allows people to stop in a moment they didn’t realise they could. @lumi.therapy Peloton is the most magical company with the loveliest team. Just smashed a long run or gym session? Ice baths could be your new best mate. After pounding out those miles, your muscles need a hand to recover. Sitting in 10–15°C water for 10–15 minutes helps: • Reduce inflammation and swelling • Flush out lactic acid for less stiffness • Numb tired legs and ease soreness It’s not exactly cosy, but once you step out, you’ll feel revived and ready for your next tempo session or parkrun. Plus, it can cut down the chance of niggles creeping in when you increase your mileage. Remember, it’s just one tool in your recovery kit - sleep, good food and proper stretching still come first. But if you’re serious about hitting new PBs, an ice bath after a big effort might be just what you need.
