3 AM wake-up calls from your cat are not random. They're a signal that your cat's rhythm and yours are out of sync, and you can change that. Here's the short version of what actually works: ditch free-feeding, schedule meals, time that last one around 90 minutes before bed, and run a real play session right before it. The Hunt, Catch, Kill, Eat, Groom, Sleep cycle is what signals to their body that the day is winding down. When they wake you up anyway, play dead. No feeding, no talking, no eye contact. Any response, positive or negative, tells them the behavior works. Give it a week to 10 days. One more thing worth knowing: if you're free-feeding dry food, you're working against yourself twice over. Wet or raw food is far more species-appropriate, and scheduled meals help regulate their energy in a way that grazing simply never will. Swipe through for the full breakdown, then try step one tonight. What's your cat's worst wake-up move, 3 AM zoomies, yowling, or something else entirely?

Feral cats have been living inside the Great Wall of China for about 20 years. Let that land. Those holes in the ancient stone? They were built centuries ago to watch for enemies. Now they’re claimed by cats who, by all accounts, are surprisingly friendly to visitors. This is what cats do. They find the edges of human civilization, settle in, and make it theirs. The Raw Cat doesn’t need an invitation. Did you know there are feral cats living on the Great Wall of China? Have any of you been there and seen them? Many thanks to @her_dream_palette for making the original that we remixed!

I had the privilege of spending the day hanging with the fantastic cats and people of the epic Oakland Cat Cafe institution, @cattownoak . We were taking pics and videos (and testing out) some of my new toy collab with @playpetbrands (coming sooon…) if you live in the bay area, stop on by and maybe leave with your newest bestest friend (cat, probably not human😻).

Your cats are looking out the window and a squirrel appears...and suddenly all hell breaks loose. This is redirected aggression, and it can seriously damage the bond between your cats if you don't know what's happening. One cat gets startled by something outside, that Raw Cat fight-or-flight response kicks in, and the nearest target takes the hit. Then you walk in to help, pick up an agitated cat, and suddenly you're the target too. Here's what to do: Give them vertical space near windows so they see potential triggers from farther away, which is closer to how cats naturally hunt. Keep a sight blocker ready, a flattened cardboard box works perfectly, so you can calmly place something solid between them without putting your hands in the middle of it. Separate, breathe, reintroduce slowly. Your cats' relationship is worth that patience. Huge thank you to the following people from #TeamCatMojo for helping make this video possible by submitting their cats: Sue W. Sandi H. Julie P. Daniel T. Tracey F., Charlie & Sophie

Ruben asked me a question I get all the time: "Should I even get another cat?" Lexi is two years old, high energy, affectionate, and clearly running her household. Sound familiar? Here's what I told him. The Raw Cat is communal by nature, and that stereotype of the aloof, solitary cat fails to hold up. Nine times out of ten, I'd love to see a cat get a companion. And when it comes to matching, forget the broad generalizations about age and sex. It's about matching energy. Lexi is young and spirited, so a cat who grew up around other cats and brings that same energy is a strong fit. Have you ever introduced a second cat into your home? What surprised you most about the process? Tell me below. One more thing: the way you introduce them makes all the difference. Follow a proper introduction process, and you set everyone up for success. You can find a video on cat introductions via the link in bio!

So you know that feeling when you go to feel for your wallet and it’s not there? Well, for me that came with the stomach churning feeling that I drove away with my beloved cat sparkle wallet from @couch_guitar_straps on the hood of my car. I cried. And then a few hours later it happened: @alliecat805 hit me up to say she had found it!! Me and my beloved were reunited (minus some stuff that blew away but that stuff is just stuff) and I got to meet a very wonderful cat human. Thanks Alie! 😻 Tag someone who has saved the day for you when you needed it most! 🦸🏻‍♀️ Also pictured: spending time with Nanni while she recovers from TPLO surgery, Evie adventuring safely with his @tractive collar, my farmer's market finds

I don't eat fruits and veggies as much as I should, so juicing has genuinely changed things for me. Taking care of yourself so you can keep showing up for your family members (two and four-footed), that's the whole point. 🧡 What seemingly small step have you taken lately that's had a positive effect on your life?

Your cat is staring at the door again. Here's what to do about it. If your cat is clearly fascinated with the world outside, that curiosity deserves a real answer, and the answer starts with you. My solutions, created specifically for animals by a holistic veterinarian and animal behaviorist, have been helping to improve animal health and well-being for over 25 years. Right now through 5/26, you can get them for 20% off! Holistic medicine is one of the oldest approaches to wellness on the planet. At its core, holistic care is about balance between the physical body and the energetic. Instead of treating a single symptom in isolation, it asks: what's the whole picture? Holistic also means that, among other things, it will not interact with any other medication that your cat is on. It will not interact with anything, ever. The philosophy has always been that these tools work best as part of a broader program that includes proper veterinary care, diet, and behavior modification. Grab your Jackson Galaxy Solutions for 20% off through 5/26 at the link in bio and talk to your vet about building a complete wellness plan!

Cats vs. birds. I'm calling it: false choice. I'm walking through a bird sanctuary with 240 species of birds, and all I can think is: why do we keep telling ourselves we have to choose? Cat person. Bird person. It's not a rivalry. The @lanaicatsanctuary on the island of Lanai in Hawaii gets it. You step off the boat, walk into a cat sanctuary, and the first thing you see is a pedestal with a guide to every native bird on the island. That's what it looks like when love for all animals lives in the same space. We need more of that. Love the birds. Love the cats. Love them all. Watch the reel and tell me: what animals are YOU holding space for?

A photo shoot at a cat cafe sounds glamorous. Friends, it was chaos (the good kind!). Cats on their terms, on their schedule, at their pace. That’s the only way this works, and honestly, every frame we got was better for it. You can’t manufacture the moment a cat decides you’re worth their attention. It was a good reminder of why I do this. Watch this reel and tell me which cat stole the show! You can check out Purrlandia’s adoptable cats on their website: https://www.purrrlandia.com/meet-the-cats ✳️ Don’t forget, all my holistic solutions are 20% off through 5/26/26 during my Memorial Day Sale- link in bio!
