Love love love these #ClosetCoreJude Jeans by @sewbikeknit, who had this to say about them:⁠ ⁠ "Ta Da!!!!⁠ ⁠ The final frontier…jeans!!!⁠ these are the closetcorepatterns #judejeans (view B)…⁠ ⁠ Deadstock “Zoe” stretch denim from the great themakersocietyaustralia (sorry it’s not in stock anymore but keep an eye out they’re always adding new amazing fabric and trims)⁠ ⁠ So I signed up for the closet core jeans class, so worthwhile if only to get a bit more Heather into my days…it’s so good! So much brilliant advice, the best I think is to accept imperfections…⁠ ⁠ Part of the construction is to baste the pieces together first to check the fit - so important because it would be pretty heartbreaking to get to the end of this and find they don’t fit. The seam allowance is generous so I was able to tweak them by decreasing the rise by 1cm, grading from 27 waist to the next size up and I also decreased the seam allowance to 1cm for the leg seams (I’m telling myself it’s because this denim isn’t as stretchy as what the pattern calls for hahaha)⁠ ⁠ Absolutely loved making these and I have so many more plans. Only thing I didn’t love was hammering in the button, but I suppose I just need practice.⁠ ⁠ I do have a sway back so will tweak the yoke a bit more in the next pair. (Plenty of help for that and more in the class)⁠ ⁠ Now, the pockets…they’re meant to be 8 pointed stars as a nod to one of my favourite books, A Court of Silver Flames….I thought of putting hand marks (like the ice burn on the stairs in the book) but am now very glad I didn’t, and flames would be a bit too much maybe? Anyway, I can’t wait to crack on…"

We’re sharing or me mades from the studio today. In addition to sewing, a lot of members of the team knit and you’ll often find at least a few people getting in some stitches around the table after lunch. We have seen many a sock, scarf or whole sweater come together over weeks and months of lunches and it’s a nice way to chat, digest and work on a project all at the same time! These speedy sewists have already managed to make the Alice Dress (our Crew pattern for April), and they have really put their own spin on this pattern!
