🎓✨ When she’s not gracing the stage as a Principal Dancer with Boston Ballet, Chisako Oga is earning serious accolades outside the studio too! 👏 She’s just received Northeastern University’s Compass Award, honoring her as a young alum who’s raising the barre in leadership, innovation, and impact. From starring in Swan Lake to studying finance and accounting as part of the BB x NU partnership made possible through generous financial support, Chisako is redefining what it means to be a powerhouse on and off stage. 🩰📚 “When I joined Boston Ballet, I was inspired by how many dancers were pursuing college degrees alongside their careers. Through the company’s partnership with Northeastern University, I saw an opportunity to invest in my future beyond the stage—and I took it. I started my degree in 2020 and balanced classes with rehearsals, performances, and the incredible honor of being promoted to Principal Dancer. It wasn’t always easy, but it pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined. Five years later, I’m proud to have graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Finance and Accounting Management and to have received the Compass Award. I’m so grateful to Boston Ballet, Northeastern, my family, and of course, Ollie (my dog), for the support along the way. I fell in love with ballet from the second I saw her step on the stage. ♥️ Advice for aspiring dancers: Hard work, passion, and kindness will take you far.
