Intrepid travellers Breanna and Lucas got engaged on their Classic Egypt Trip with us last week 💍   Here’s what happened in Breanna’s words: “We had been dreaming of this trip for months. Our first ‘big’ adventure together. It was Lucas’ first time leaving the country, and after three years together, we couldn’t believe we won this trip in a giveaway with @Cotopaxi and Intrepid and we were beyond excited.   Egypt did not disappoint. Every site we visited was more breathtaking than the last, with our tour leader Mahmoud weaving history into every step we took. But there was something Lucas wasn’t telling me. Unbeknownst to me, he had planned to propose at Hatshepsut Temple. But when we arrived, it was packed with people. He wanted something more private, a moment that felt like ours. So he waited.   The next evening, we reached the Temple of Kom Ombo just as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in deep oranges and soft purples. The crowds had thinned. It was quiet. Perfect. And that’s when he did it.   I was in total shock. There was no way he had carried a ring to Egypt. But there he was, asking me to spend forever with him. ‘I wasn’t nervous at all,’ he told me later, ‘because I knew I was choosing the right one.’   We soaked in our little slice of alone time before boarding the boat to Aswan, where we celebrated on the deck with a bottle of local Egyptian wine, the Nile stretching endlessly before us.   It was, without a doubt, the perfect moment.” 🥰 🎥 @friesen_breanna & @lucasthatch
