I saw this beautiful mom letting her children paint her pant (now I can’t find her, pls tag her if you know who I’m talking about 🫶🏻😅) So, I fell in love with the idea and wanted to try it. I was so nervous about my kids making a mess, but lo and behold! I’m the messy one! 🙌🏻😭 It was a success and we can’t wait to show you the results! 🎨🫶🏻🫠🤟🏻🤣 I want to give a shout out to my momma! Happy Mother’s Day to the one who knew me best. 🤟🏻 @jkdonahue REAL TALK: My momma always knows best and for that, I am grateful! 🥹 She has always seen something more in me… something creative, something bright… just something more! She haaaaaaaates it whenever I used the ‘Deaf Card.’ 😑 She used to tell me multiple times, “You’re going to be a graphic designer or a creative director one day.” I laughed it off, convinced that success only came in the form of a high-paying degree. I chased the “safe” path instead. Big mistake! 😬 I earned my degree in Human Resources and landed a job at the Department of Labor. From the outside, everything looked great. But inside? I felt completely lost. I was unfulfilled, disconnected from the creative spark that made me me. 🫥 So I took a leap of faith. I went back to school, and this time, for graphic design. And at RIT School of Design, I finally felt alive. I was seen, challenged, and inspired. It was exactly where I was meant to be. I went straight to work for the DOD. 😁 But, again, another detour. This time as I'm in a different season, I'm a SAHM, and through social media, I’ve found new ways to let my creativity bloom with God guiding me along the way. It’s not always easy, but it’s deeply fulfilling. 🥹 If you’ve taken a detour, if you’ve made a “wrong” turn, I want you to know: It’s never too late to return to who you were created to be. ALLOW yourself to say, “Ok! Change of plans!” 👏🏻 Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Hey… God knows and sees it all. I know what it’s like to feel invisible or unseen. But He’s is in the heart of motherhood. In the quiet and the chaos, He is near. And these mess, He sees them and calls it beautiful. Even when we feel like we're falling apart, His light shines through us. There are days we feel stretched thin, lost in the weight of it all. Are you as excited as I am? 🥹 Lately, I’ve been pondering the question of, “where do I see myself in 5 years? 15 years? 30 years?” But let me share this first. I keep having the same vision, but the woman in it changes each time. The first time, she appeared in a dream, standing at the edge of a dock, gazing at the mountains. She looked to be in her 30s. Then I saw her again, just for a split second. This time, she had long gray hair, a youthful figure, maybe in her 50s, and she wore a Cape Cod-style outfit. I couldn’t see her face, but I felt her strength. The third time, she was older, in her 70s, elegant and serene, with the same long hair. And finally, she was in her 90s. She turned slightly, and for a moment, I saw the side of her face. A warrior with deep stories to tell. Fierce and unshakable. I cried. I don’t fully understand why, but I know this: God is a God of order. I need to live more intentionally. As my last confirmation, while editing my audio with no plan in mind, I randomly chose background music. My twin heard it and said it was quite fitting. 👇🏻 🎶 Weaving hope into my soul, with every step He makes me whole. 🎶 Like what? That hit me. I adapt well, but I don’t love change. I’m a deep thinker, and I value new perspectives. And deep down, I know that once I become “her,” I’ll miss who I am now. I’m grateful for this messy, beautiful season of motherhood. But God gently nudged me… it’s time to move forward. Motherhood remains, but things are shifting. I’m ready. Ready to dress better, care for my body, and grow into the woman He’s shaping me to be. Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you.

Have you been tested so badly that it cracks your heart? 😔😣 I never realized the connection between guarding our hearts because of how tender they are. 🤯 God wants us to have a soft, tender heart. Think about it, why would He ask us to guard it if it were already hardened? 💔 … wow. That’s not the condition God desires for us. A tender heart is a surrendered heart that is open to His voice and responsive to His leading. That’s exactly why He calls us to guard it. ❤️‍🩹 So yes, guard your heart… BUT also put on the full armor of Christ. Your heart and mind are a battlefield. You must stand ready. 🛡️ Are you facing a cycle of old wounds? Hardship? Tension? Anger? Heartache? Feeling blindsided? How it started and how it’s going! 2017-2024 🫶🏻🥰 We started this tradition together on our honeymoon that every February going forward, we would take a snapshot of us jumping on the bed! On our honeymoon, we prayed and proclaimed a good life over our marriage and our future family, even when I doubted I’d have children. BUT mannn, because of my husband’s faith … whew! To my CODAs, that little Spidey toy spoke volumes of love! 🤟🏻🥹❤️ @marvel Jason came up to me dancing and signing “I love you,” and I thought it was the sweetest thing!!!! The moment Jason scooted over and then seeing Oliver also dancing, I finally connected the dots… PAH, I see why! I mean classic Deaf mom moment! Hah! 🤣😅 And I don’t mind them playing it over and over. It doesn’t bother me one bit and believe it or not, that’s one of the things they love most about me. They all usually like listening to stuff over and over. 🎶🤪🎶 But truly, if a dancing toy that “signs” I love you brings them that much joy, then I’ll take it every time. My heart is full. 🙌🏻🥹 As we walk down this aisle called life, we, too, can dance with love as we strive for what’s ahead. I did not see this coming. He signed on the microphone instead of actually signing. Oh, my sweet, witty child! 😂 Would you have done something like this? The BEST way for me to explain this whole experience: TV is a distraction box. 😳 My iphone is next. #doomscrolling 😅 Luke was able to sleep better at nights with less nightmares. Oliver and Jason fought less and played/talked more together. 👏🏻 And overall, our household seemed a bit more brighter. It’s hard to explain as this is still new to me. I’m still processing it all, but it helped all of us go through our day with ease. I’m not saying whether watching TV is good or bad, I just want to bring my point across that we should pay attention to how we use TV. We’ve decided to watch tv on Thursdays and Fridays only. We will keep you guys posted. #ACCOUNTABILITY 🤟🏻😅 Now that I’m finally getting in the hang of my daily routine and not so much in a survival mode… here’s what I’ve discovered. I seek my iphone first thing in the morning. 😩 It’s true, I crave connection/community. It’s hard as a stay at home mom, plus it’s just easy. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that! But… It’s just that I seek my iPhone first thing, when I should be seeking Him first. Do you forget to turn off your car, too? 😅 When we all went outside to play, my son heard the car running and immediately let me know. He went straight to her door and knocked. I had NO idea and I didn’t smell anything! As a Deaf person (she’s Deaf, too!) we do forget, too, even though we intrusively double check everything. We’re humans! 🫠 Oliver couldn’t wait for her to come outside! 😆🤭 PS: some Deaf people have strobe lights when someone knocks/rings the doorbell. Others have an app (i.e. @ring) to notify when someone is at the door. And most have dogs! 🥰🐾 I hope this answers your question. 🙌🏻💙 When I was a little girl, I learned about how Jesus knocks on the ‘door’ of our heart. 🥹 👇🏻 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20 (NASB) 👇🏻 I couldn’t really understand what it meant until I got a bit older. And when I finally did understand, everything fell in place about trusting how He lives in our heart. He doesn’t barge in and destroy the door. He doesn’t kick the door open and taunt us. He doesn’t pound on the door and scream at us. … He knocks and He waits for you and me with love. He is there. It’s up to us to invite Him in. He was never gone! He was never far away! He was right there waiting for us. 😭 And when you and I let Him in, you bond with Him (dine with Him in a way that you both eat and talk together) We need food to live physically, right? Likewise, we need Him to live spiritually. 🤟🏻🥹

The Deaf Women’s Gathering retreat this past weekend was so much fun. I was spiritually fed and refreshed. 🤟🏻🥹 Sometimes, we thought we saw things the way we thought, but ending up perceiving it wrong. And that’s why humility is so important.
