What do you enjoy most about seeing your mother in a sari? Anuja: I think my mom looks the most elegant in a sari. Also, the way she carries one is beautiful! Which is the most valuable sari you own? Madhu: The first sari l ever wore - a chiffon with zari checks. I wore it for a birthday party. Anuja: My most prized possession is my silk Patan, My mother-in-law presented it to me for my wedding. Vocalist and philanthropist Chandrika Tandon @chandrikatandon was recently awarded a Grammy for her album, Triveni. She is seen here in Raw Mango across several celebrations over the past few months. Miranda, modeled on Priyanka Bose @priyankabose20 Reminiscent of a hanging flower arrangement, the Miranda dress is threaded with a welded frame that supports its cascading flow of blue silk twill. The patterns embroidered on the upper lycra-silk bodice layer cylindrical glass beads over each other to create floral illusions. Jewelry artist Nitya Arora @nitya.arora wears the Bianca Sari at the 25th anniversary of Lakme Fashion Week. A single yardage of fabric, this sari is woven in mulberry silk with zari worked into the weave. The palla, infused with lycra for stretchability, creates gathers at the points of transition to ease movement overall. Historians scattered around the internet are torn over this leather suit, embedded with 1-inch nails projecting outwards. Some say it was used for bear-hunting but proof is scant, considering one would have to hug a bear like a dearly missed friend to deal any meaningful damage. Woven with silver zari and silk, the lustrous Chaandi tissue sari has a black facing that runs selvedge-to-selvedge. The Varanasi silk brocade kurta and sharara has a floral jaal punctuated with peacocks - the resulting motifs are seemingly etched in metallic zari against a colored background, achieving a remarkable clarity of pattern and form.
