Finally! 5 years after it’s concept & creation, my Grateful Dead Fabulous Yacht Party Blanket Coat had its homecoming moment this past weekend at the Newport Beach Boat Show. Seriously, Yachty Dead Heads just have the best vibes!⛵️💀 Spending so much time in the yachting world over the years, I was quick to learn that so many Yachtys were Dead Heads. The overall laid-back ocean vibes were a match made in heaven with the music of the Grateful Dead. Meeting so many other fabulous Yachty Dead Heads that loved the ocean, and the unparalleled lifestyle surrounding it, would blast classic GD jams across the harbor from boats emblazoned with stealies, lot flags, and boat names referencing the Grateful Dead. It’s a scene that needed a fabulous coat that encompassed the total energy, thus the GD Fabulous Yacht Party Blanket Coat was born. Life on the water can get chilly, and we often find ourselves curling up and huddled under loads of blankets when the wind picks up or the sun goes down. It was clear as a ships bell that this coat had to be cozy, comfortable all while feeling super luxurious. I was inspired by the over-the-top, ornate styles of some of the other yachts, and knew this blanket coat needed to have similar gaudy, ostentatious energy. I could really envision Snoop Dogg or Lil Wayne cruising through the Miami breakwaters aboard their mega-power yachts with a bevy of bikini clad babes all crushing Cristal and Dom Perignon, wearing this big pimpin’ bathrobe-like blanket coat. It would be an epic, statement making coat that would demand attention! So, 5 years after I first dreamed of its existence, my own Grateful Dead Yacht Party Blanket Coat finally had its long awaited moment in the (overcast) sun. ✨👘💀🌹⚡️✨

Week 4 Las Vegas & Hollywood Bowl GD Fab Round Up 🔥👯‍♀️💀🌹⚡️🔥

My beautiful mom made these pillows for the boat a few weeks after we scattered my grandmother‘s ashes (her mother) off the back of Some Tuesday in 2018, right off the tip of the Manhattan Beach Pier. My grandmother only had one final request to me before she died. She wanted to have a bigger and bolder sendoff than her brother did. I told her, “I got you Grandma.” She was a super special woman in my life, and I loved her dearly. So we picked up my whole family at the King Harbor Yacht Club in Redondo Beach, CA and sailed up as close as we could get to the Manhattan Beach Pier, and scattered her ashes to all of her favorite big band tunes. It was such a special day putting my grandmother to rest in true grandma Tic Tac Fabulous spirit, in the place she loved so much, the most Manhattan Beach-iest place. So my mom made these pillows as a thank you for the boat. My mom passed away two years later almost to the day. All she wanted in her retirement days was to have a beach front property in Dana Point, California. So of course we had to put her to rest in her dream spot (her dogs ashes too). It was a very emotional and magical day- as we turned the point to her final stop, we were greeted by thousands of dolphins. The day had been overcast, but at that exact moment, the sun beamed through the clouds and we knew that that was the place she would live on forever. So every time I look at these pillows, I think of her and they put a big smile on my face, and I know that she is with us forever. And protecting us on all of our journeys and adventures. And every time we pass Dana Point, I shed a tear and wave (right now🥹). I love you Mom & Grandma Tic Tac Fabulous. Thank you for being the rocks in my life & inspiring me every day.
