One of my favorite parts about traveling back to Japan is visiting shops that created the era i love. The golden 80s/90s are filled with stories and legends i grew up dreaming about and getting inspired from. It’s so cool to me that we can visit these shops and see the very cars that inspired us to get into building cars. Getting to see the infamous RE Amamiya shop was definitely what you would imagine an OG Japanese tuning shop to be. Tucked under an apartment complex, RE RX7s scattered outside, and a torn apart D1GP car inside. I’ve been to Japan too many times to keep track of, but I will never get used to seeing these shops for the first time. It brings back the kid in me that aspired doing what I do today. It will always bring back a new sense of inspiration and that’s the best part. We are back home, but with a whole new fire of passion. Spent a couple days in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to in Japan, Sadogashima. We had a nice change of pace from the usual content here and it was amazing. From thousand year old temples to full bloom cherry blossoms, Sadogashima had it all. Plus, we got to break out the new camcorder. Head to today’s video to check it all out!

One of my favorite days of all time… our next adventure takes us to Gunma, Japan. We are making our way to Niigata, so on the way we thought we’d stop half way in Gunma. Gunma is home to Japan’s real initial d locations, so we had to go on some runs. While on Mt. Haruna (Mt. Akina from initial d), we ran into some locals who still meet up and run the local touges. GTRs, 86’s, Miata’s… it was a sick squad! Listening to them tell stories, discuss modifications to their cars, and have them welcome in some random people on the top of a mountain was just so cool… car culture is still alive and well here, even in the younger generation. Along with our Gunma trip, I was also able to sell some Evo V parts to Up Garage AND we stumbled across the legendary tuning shop, Cusco!! FINALLY WE SCORED BIG AT UP GARAGE! 🤠 decided to run by the local UG when we finished up the evo and after some digging, I found a nice, crusty set of JDM kouki taillights for the FC RX7! I’ve been wanting a set of these for Sue SO BAD, but never pulled the trigger. But there was no way I was passing these up in Japan. These are gonna totally set the FC off and I’m stoked! Build my dream Evo V in Japan (Engine) ✅ @maperformance built block is in, @topranksato helped build the head.. she’s a certified RIPPER!! Coming to a touge near you. A true dream come true. The whole purpose of going to Japan is to not only share my passion with all of you, but to also give you an inside look on what it’s really like to have a car and build it in Japan. I want to share the culture, the struggles, the stories we all grew up hearing. With that, We’ve had some epic adventures in Japan and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon. I want to make sure the Japan Evo can keep up… Today, we get that chance!! I worked with @maperformance on a dream build for the Evo V!! Introducing our new, fully built 4G63 from MAP!! The legend @topranksato was kind enough to help take on this challenge, so in today’s episode, we officially start the build! There were so many moving parts on turning this build into reality, but I really have to give a thank you to @toprank_global & @maperformance for making this crazy dream come true. Feels good to be back 🇯🇵 we have a jam packed trip this week! Full build series with @maperformance is going down for the Japan Evo and I am SO stoked. I can’t wait to share more in the next couple days.. anyway, we wasted no time. As soon as I touched down in Japan, we started our adventure. We headed out to one of our favorite spots, Akihabara, for some dinner (ramen) and ended up on a Pokémon hunt 😂 we had some nice scores.. you can catch that on @trainerdut. Then, of course, we made our way to Daikoku to end our night. I’m always so surprised at the crowd that shows up.. just a regular Tuesday night and there were 100+ people/cars. Feels like the old days 🔥 V1 of the FC is here! Sue is so clean and I’ve been having such a hard time deciding which direction I want to take it. For the first stage of the FC, I decided I wanted something classic and timeless… the boys over @fitmentindustries helped me secure a whole new set up for Sue. Using their gallery I was able to decide on a very spicy spec and I think it came out unbelievable! We got to witness RACING HISTORY!! #GenesisPartner @genesis_usa had me out for their reveal event for the GMR - 001 hypercar. This is going to be the newest car on grid and I am HYPED! One of My favorite racing series is the World Endurance Championship and getting to be at the reveal for this was so awesome! This will be Korea’s first time on the racing grid and they are coming out with a bang. Winning drivers & twin turbo V8… it’s going to be hot. What do you guys think? Tons of love for Cayman Street Cup! We finally have some closure on the rebuild… @porschesantaclarita wanted to check out the GTS, so I got the chance to bring it by and tour their dealership… well, their COMPOUND. This place has a SECRET BAT CAVE full of true Porsche history. But anyway… the legend Jesse (@the_porsche_whisperer) took some time to inspect the Cayman. He looked over our front end replacement, drivability, and so much more. It was SUCH a cool experience having a true PCar professional crawl around the car.
