This 40lb+ common ended off an incredible second day here in Bulgaria 🇧🇬 The crazy thing is this was one of the smaller fish we have caught so far on this trip!!

My first Bulgarian carp!! 🇧🇬 Just 5 minutes after getting the rods out on our Bulgarian Adventure and I managed to land this chunky common of 38lb+! What’s more, just five minutes later I went on to land another, only a bit bigger! 😉

I’ve met my fair share of characters when I’ve been out on the bank, but no one quite like this fella… TAG your mates to see if they’ve met him too?? 😉😉😄

50% OFF HIPPOPOTACHUNK CLOTHING!! The most affordable fishing clothing ever just got even more affordable!! If you haven’t checked out the Hippopotachunk clothing yet now is the time because @georgeatasda are doing OVER 50% OFF across the Hippo range! That means you can now get a fishing T-Shirt for £6, or joggers and hoodies for £12! You can grab yours at selected Asda stores or online, I’ll put the link in my stories 🦛

As I prepare for my next European adventure it made me think back to an epic trip a couple of years ago to @pelagicevolake in Bosnia whilst filming for @fox_international. That short session was topped off with a 60lb’er making it the third country I’ve landed 60lb+ fish from. This may be nothing compared to the achievements of @briggsy.steve or @kristofcuderman but it’s a goal I’ve set myself and I’m hoping I can get country number 4 under my belt on my next trip! Which country do you think I should visit to try and catch a 60lb’er? 🌍 Thanks to @kieran_mellett for these mega pics 👌

@fox_international have done a podcast. Harry kicks off (probably). Chilly gets angry. Lewis calls someone a **** (again, probably). Scott says something he shouldn’t. Definitely worth a listen!

During lockdown I found myself “stranded” in Germany with @judithpitchers and as luck would have it there was a river just 100m from Judith’s house. This tiny river became an obsession of mine and I’d spend every day walking the river bank, baiting spots and looking for any carpy signs. Before I even put a rod in the water it was obvious from the few carp I actually saw that there wasn’t many carp in this stretch, but it was alive with other species such as chub, bream and big roach. Following a lengthy baiting campaign I did my first session on the river, and I’d barely had chance to get the bobbin on before the rod was away! That turned out to be my only bite that session, and that pretty much set the tone for every session going forward. Most of the bites I had came within a few minutes of casting out, or they never happened at all. And, if that first bite turned out to be a nuisance species the disturbance caused would see any carp immediately doing the off. Very frustrating, but very rewarding in equal measures! The biggest fish I landed from this tiny river was just under 30lb. Incidentally I lost the exact same fish a few weeks earlier, prior to spawning, so I missed out on a river 30lb’er on that occasion!

Last week we were out filming the next episode of @fox_international The Challenge at @doddington_lane_pits. As you can tell probably tell from this pic I had a bit of a result, but, was it enough to see me pass the challenge!! Thanks to @dylanwillettcarp for capturing this moment perfectly! 🙌
