I am loving the zero cleanup stress of the outdoor art table. The twins are just a little too small to use the table so we put the art caddy that comes with the outdoor art activity table to good use on the ground. The kids enjoyed unlimited creative freedom, which I struggle with indoors. Best part? When masterpieces were complete, everyone (yes, even the tiny Picassos!) got a refreshing hose-down. Color mixing just got a lot more fun! The green they mixed at the end is my personal favorite 💚! The kids had a blast using our Sensory System and tubes from @guidecraft_official to make process art 🎨! Comment MIX and I’ll send you the details to some of the resources we’re using here if you’re interested 😊. We diluted the washable paint with water in our treasure tubes and mixed it up, then placed our marbles from the unit ball run into the paint and rolled them down the tubes. It was fun to see the marbles bump off the sides of the bins and create new colors and designs as they rolled. We added some more marbles after awhile and the sound of them going down the tubes all at the same time was super fun! After a bit the kids really wanted to dump the paint water, so we diluted it even further and then they poured it down the tubes. We loved seeing the colors swirl together to make new colors. We poured two primary colors at the same time and watched as they changed color right as they exited the tubes and combined! So fun 🤩! Channeling spring with our new @guidecraft_official Sensory System after waking up several mornings in a row to frosty grass and snow flurries—I think it did the trick because we’ve been enjoying sunshine the last few days 💛. The littles really enjoyed transforming our table into a tree! They had fun helping the birds build their nests so they could lay eggs. They loved placing the nests on top of the canopy so they were hidden in the silk “branches” of the tree like real nests are. Then they scooped and filled the treasure tubes with bird seed to feed the birds with later. Baby W even buried some of the eggs in the bird seed to hide them from predators 😊. After playing inside for a while, the littles continued this play outside by bringing their nests out and leaving trails of the birdseed for the real birdies to come and enjoy in our yard. #guidecraft #guidecraft_official #learningthroughplay #sensoryplay #springplay

♻️Toy rotation has been such a game changer in our household. We rotate every 1-2 weeks and never stress about toy overwhelm. Agency is giving kids the tools and the trust to make choices that shape their world. If you want kids who are confident in themselves and their choices, give them the ability to make choices for themselves. One easy way to create opportunities for choice is to set up spaces for child-led play where kids have to make choices about what materials to use and how to carry out their ideas. Making seemingly small choices like what/how to play helps kids build their ability to trust their own judgement and their confidence in carrying out plans - which are hugely important life skills. By facilitating this kind of child-led play we tell the child that we trust their ability to act independently to make choices that influence both their own lives and the world in which they live. We are totally loving the @guidecraft_official Sensory Play System! The tubes add such a fun twist and my kids totally love them. The baby had been fussy all morning so after our homeschool lessons I took a few minutes to set this up for big brothers. While they explored this water play cause and effect, H and I took some 1:1 time.
