WE’VE GONE BANANAS: Meet our Banana Body Balm — a rich balm that melts into oil on contact, leaving skin glossy, supple, and silken. We first made a limited-edition version for our Mexico Subscription Box, inspired by the creamy sweetness of the Oaxacan Apple Banana. I also took a few jars to Australia during our store visits at @meccabeauty and the reaction was WILD. People loved it so much that we decided to bring it back properly. The scent is amazing: creamy Oaxacan Apple Banana, a little floral sweetness from Ylang Ylang, and a cool green brightness from Violet Leaf. Patchouli grounds everything in warmth and spice. It is made with nourishing oils of Sea Buckthorn, Passionfruit, and Açaí, it gives skin the kind of deep moisture that lotion never quite reaches. STAY TUNED: My favorite weekend ritual is tuning into the iconic Evan Kleiman on our very own 89.9 FM KCRW. I know every note in her voice, and I listen each week with enormous delight. As host of Good Food on @kcrw since 1997, Evan has interviewed more than 6,000 guests — from legendary chefs to visionary farmers — and through it all, she has reminded us that food is never just food. It is culture, politics, pleasure, memory, agriculture, and home. Before KCRW, Evan was the founder and chef of Angeli Caffe, where for 28 years she helped reintroduce rustic Italian cooking to America. She is also, by her own account, attempting to become the Queen of Pie. Which feels exactly right. This Fourth of July, Flamingo Estate is proud to partner with KCRW in support of independent public media. Last summer the Trump administration voted to claw back federal funding for public broadcasting. BUT KCRW has kept going — reporting, gathering, feeding curiosity, playing music, telling stories, and reminding Los Angeles what a true community institution can be. So this week, every Farm Box is curated by Evan Kleiman. Earlier this week one of our close friends called to request very special gift for someone important. For moment like these, I love to send our most lavish gift: Thirty hand-poured candles, gathered together in one enormous embossed box. Each one personalized by hand. Each one carrying a feast of fragrance. This set is called The Bonfire Set, and we make each one individually. Either one beloved scent, or a bespoke mixture from across our entire candle collection. Each candle is carefully poured, labeled, monogrammed, arranged, and tucked into a purpose made box. It is abundance and indulgence. And that’s exactly the point. X Richard
