We’ve had this sale planned for a month so it’s happening (and there’s another shirt sale coming up next week) but we’ve also seen more potential change on the horizon in this business since we first started designing clothes. The audio on this reel is the best way to sum up our attitude right now. There’s a lot of uncertainty and we might be starting from scratch on new designs or putting on hold designs we’ve been developing for years. My duties invoice went up to over $25K when it is usually around $4K so we must do the necessary. Please pass the information along to anyone you know who might want to buy from our brand. We are doing everything we can to get these costs down, including sourcing different fabrics with a lower duty liability. We have a very knowledgeable import/expert lawyer helping us navigate this but bottom line is most synthetic fabrics are coming out of China and there’s really no choice for for us other than to have our zippers made and fabric made in mills there. Even products that are produced in the USA are up against these challenges. I’ve been rolling around the southwest with a damn fine group of people. We’re not just a band, we’ve become like family by now and I’m pleased to have these folks with me down in Bisbee today for my son’s 13th birthday. Gonna be a big time in old town. I want to say thank you to all the folks who came out to shows in Arizona and New Mexico last week and for helping us kick off this tour in class. I’ve heard nothing but positive feedback about the full band and the new material. I took a lil trip to Bisbee, Arizona to drop off some of my desert plant creations at @classicrockcouture and I looove this shop! This shop perfectly suits my products, desert-y, vintage-y, colorful, and so many amazing clothes (I already own a few). Their Bisbee shop space is in a historic JC Penney building right on Main st and Claire has decorated the inside perfectly to really let the building shine. Next time you are in Bisbee (and you should go soon because it is like stepping back in time in all the best ways and it’s only 1 hour and 40 mins from Tucson) check out Classic Rock Couture and give my creations a try! Today we hung artwork by @leighkvetko in preparation for her exhibition this Saturday for our Desertscapes event, and @erin_._cox brought by some pieces from her latest collection which will also be available Saturday. Leigh’s textile artwork is made from desert foraged materials and Erin’s boleros from Mexican acrylic and wool camp blankets. Our space was beautifully transformed with art while @passeathomemom and I tried on these amazing (and incredibly comfy) bolero jackets! This is only a snippet of these artists’ incredible work but you will have to show up Saturday to see these collections in their entirety! April 19, 6-9pm, 168 W Kennedy in Tucson.
