I never knew combo steam ovens existed, but when we bought our first house, I inherited one-and now it’s my favorite kitchen essential. Steam cooking is a total game changer: it gently cooks food to preserve nutrients, antioxidants, and flavor, all while making everything easier to digest and keeping the vibrant color and texture intact. Last night’s dinner was the ultimate one-pan, steam oven Fab Four feast: my 50-50 rice (half rice, half cauliflower rice), a big fillet of salmon, fresh broccoli, lemon, and dill. Here’s how I did it: - Rinsed 2 cup of rice, added 2 cup of water, and steamed for 10–12 minutes. - Layered on frozen cauliflower rice into the jasmine rice, broccoli florets, wild salmon, lemon slices, and dill. - Steamed everything together for another 8–10 minutes. - Finished with a drizzle of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil and Maldon sea salt.
