DON'T Steam on Hard Mode⁠ ⁠ Most espresso machines allow you to adjust the target temperature for your steam boiler. Reducing this by just a few degrees, and thereby reducing the steam pressure, can make it much easier to steam smooth microfoam when you're a beginner. This is helpful on smaller machines like this LUCCA Tempo, but on powerful machines like the LUCCA A53 or the La Marzocco Linea Mini, I'd argue that it's vital. Those things can steam 8oz of milk in just a few seconds 🫢 they're not messing around.
