From Oviedo to Orvieto 💙 There's a small city perched on a rock cliff in Umbria, not far from Tuscany and Lazio called Orvieto which I wanted to visit because it's name is the same as my home city (Urbs Vetus, old city). It was founded by the Etrucans, then conquered and destroyed by the Romans and reconstructed in the middle Age so the architecture is mainly from that time. The Duomo is mind blowing, a beautiful Gothic cathedral from the s.XIII with a mosaic facade and marble color stripes in the rest of the building that is beautifully painted with frescos in the inside. I'll be sharing a lot of sacred art these days as Italy is the epicenter of it and the artistic heritage we saw during our trip filled my eyes and my heart ❣️ Also sharing some of the delicious food and wines that filled our stomachs and souls 😋
