When filling an EarthBox, we started with the corners. The soil was packed firmly into the wicking zones first. If it’s left loose and dry: Water can wash it out It creates a sinkhole And wicking won’t work properly Small mistake. Big problem later. Now about the fill tube. EarthBox recommends angling it. For indoor growing, I ran it vertical. Why? The grow light reflects off the water. If you see reflection = the reservoir has water. No reflection = it’s empty. Simple visual check. No guessing. Little setup details like this made living soil growing smoother and more predictable.
