With Tulip Season officially over, we thought we'd shine some light on why tulip are chopped the minute that they bloom. Contrary to very popular belief, the tulips that you see in fields aren't grown for their flowers (well the flowers that bloom during tulip season at least). Tulip Fields exist for bulb growers to grow the BULBS as this is the commodity. The farmers chop the heads of the tulips when they peak so that more energy can reach the bulb rather than get absorbed all by the flower head itself. The goal is to yield bigger bulbs for bigger flowers! These bulbs then get sold as bulbs or potted in pots to then be sold to other growers or florists around the world. As a result billions of these tulip choppings are left on the ground and not used. @bloomeffects is the first to upcycle these choppings to use in skincare! We work super closely with our farmers to promote circular farming and upcycling. To learn more about the benefits of tulips in skincare (backed by science), make sure to head to our website! #bloomeffects #skincare #crueltyfree #fieldtoformula #cleanbeauty
