We remember 🇺🇸 • Before I do this workout with my classes, I always explain that “Murph” is more than just a hard workout—it’s a memorial workout created to honor Michael P. Murphy, a U.S. Navy SEAL lieutenant who was killed during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for exposing himself to enemy fire so he could make a distress call for his team. The workout itself was originally one of Murphy’s favorite training sessions. He called it “Body Armor” because he often performed it wearing body armor or a weighted vest. After his death, CrossFit renamed it “Murph” in his honor. That framework helps us get in a mindset of honor and respect, by simply doing a workout. • While I’m not proud of everything going on with this country, I am very proud to be an American. May we never take for granted those who have given it all for us! • @barbellapparel shorts, hat and shirt (use code “Cardwell” for discount) • @5.11 30lb vest • My time - 46:34. • • • #fitness #dad #murph
