Weekend Trip Report: a quick look at where someone spent their weekend. Real trips, real conditions, no itinerary required. This week, Gearhead Anna and friends spent a few nights in the Uintas chasing trout. Early September up there is about as good as it gets. Clear skies, ideal temps, and nights finally cold enough to justify pulling the puffy out for the first time this season. Once the sun dropped, Anna lived in the Waas Allied Down Jacket and Wander Pile-Fleece Pants. Perfect for the chilly evenings and sitting around the campfire. Fishing was steady. Half the group threw flies, the other half was on spinners, which is the right way to work the lakes up there. Anna’s favorite moments were checking out the wildlife, like moose, mountain goats, and eagles, and seeing her friend Kaitlyn catch her first fish, which was a Tiger Trout.
