Some lines call to be climbed, but wait decades to be freed.   Arc’teryx athlete Minyoung Lee (@lee._.min._.young) with the first free ascent of Seolwoo-gil (8c/5.14b)   The granite walls of Seoninbong in Dobongsan are home to some of the finest traditional crack climbing in Korea. But between the cracks lies Seolwoo-gil. Subtle from a distance, but striking upon closer inspection, the route is defined by a faint rib of granite that arcs up the sheer face. Established in the 1970s as an aid climb with ring bolts, it was rebolted in 2018 by Sukmon Choi, one of Korea’s most respected alpinists. They left some of the old hardware in place, honoring those who came before while opening the door to a new style of ascent — one now realized with Minyoung Lee’s FFA.   🎥: @lightenoutdoor.studio
