Below the glittering hem of her ankle-length dress we see a unique pair of lace-up boots. This style of shoe became popularity in the 1910s with the growing interest in the tango dance from Argentina. Seen as sensual and risqué, the dance directly influenced fashion, including footwear. Tango boots were designed to lace up the leg, which showed off the leg lines (and stockings) of the dancer. We designed our Tango Edwardian Boots, shown in gold and silver here, based on antique examples from 1900 through 1920. Tango features a deliciously curved shaft and scalloped tabs, which are laced with double-faced satin ribbon laces. 💃 Do you dare to wear Tango?
