Both, the Roman toga and the Indian sari, traditional garments from different cultures, each with its different style, do drape the similar way. Draped over one shoulder, and the rest wrapped around the body, both symbolic to their respective heritage. For ‘Sumor’, this summer of 2025, as I worked through the various silhouettes, this one reminded me of the inspiration it carries. For a simple desire of the toga elegance and something to resemble the sari pleats, this silhouette is ideal for the chic, traditionally modern. Aikeyah, being the powerhouse of experimental silhouettes, does carry history & heritage lending the modern clothing a meaning. Featuring, a toga and a sari inspired dress, in silk.
