We couldn’t be more proud of our newest batiks! For the last seven years it’s been a pleasure to work with Edwina and her wonderful team of artisans to produce our handprinted batik fabrics in Winneba, Ghana. Here you can see the process for making our new Reality Check fabric. It starts with applying the wax design onto the fabric, which you can see Louis doing here. The fabric then goes into a dye bath, is hung outside in the sun for the color to set, and is then placed in boiling water to remove the wax (which Hannah is doing, above). Once this is done, it’s dried in the beautiful sunshine, and then packed and shipped off to Kenya to be cut and sewn into tops! Each step of this process takes incredible time, skill and artistry, and we’re so grateful to the team for their hard work and for helping to create such joy and beauty! ☀️ #justonedress
