A day in my life as a marine biologist: shark tagging edition Today we went shark tagging- my favorite days. @uncchapelhill has the longest running shark survey in the country, collecting data on sharks in North Carolina since the early 70s. This survey allows us to monitor shark populations and identify trends in their migrations. We also collect a lot of samples for a variety of research projects before the sharks are safely released. Of course, not all of my days look like this, but we’re currently in our summer field season- meaning more time on the water with sharks! Other days, I’m in my office working on my computer. So I’ll soak up these days when I can 🥰
