I haven’t stepped onto the competition mats since the 2012 World Pro in Abu Dhabi. When I left the Middle East, there was only one thing on my mind: manufacturing Jiu-Jitsu gis in America. I landed in Boston, called my business partner @dedecobjj, and said, “We need to build a factory.” I quit competing, right as I was about to break out on the global scene… because I knew I had to choose one path. Trying to be world-class at both would’ve been impossible. If I had to do it again, I’d make the same choice. Over a decade later, America is finally waking up to what’s been lost, and what must be rebuilt. Jiu-Jitsu taught me about timing, leverage, balance, and angles. And from Jiu-Jitsu, ORIGIN was born.
