It’s with heavy hearts that we reflect on the life of Clyde Aikau—a legendary waterman, lifeguard, and voyager with the Polynesian Voyaging Society. As Eddie Aikau’s younger brother, Clyde was renowned for his prowess in the water and his steadfast commitment to his friends and ‘ohana. He carried the mantle of a true Hawaiian waterman as a big-wave surfer, wayfinder, and a guiding light for future generations. The lineup won’t be the same without him.
