Inspired by the traditional Japanese card game “Hanafuda”, this exquisite pen collection celebrates Japan’s rich artistic heritage. Each pen is crafted using Yubi maki-e underdrawings, meticulously hand-applied by skilled artisans. Individually signed and numbered by the esteemed artist Isana Kobayashi, these pens blend modern and traditional maki-e techniques, transforming each piece into a true work of art. Available in two versions, Ino-Shika-Cho features a deep green body and dark cap, inspired by the “Boar, Deer, and Butterfly” cards from Hanafuda. Tsukimi-de-Ippai, meaning “A Moonlit Drink,” showcases a serene grey-blue body with a dark cap, evoking Japan’s autumn moon-viewing tradition. Both designs capture the elegance and symbolism of Hanafuda, making these pens a timeless tribute to Japanese culture.
