We've now made over 50,000 lamps, but it all started with a broken one. In 2018, I was building software for banks and daydreaming about creating something l could hold in my hands. I ended up going to design school... and then covid hit. I bought an Akari lamp as a gift to myself to fill the void, but it arrived broken. Rather than return it, I designed and 3d printed my own lampshade. Many iterations later, it became the Wavy Lamp - I added my own base, posted it on Instagram, and suddenly it wasn't an experiment anymore. Friends bought it, then strangers, and soon my apartment was overflowing with lamps. Then... I got fired! To be continued.
