Dropper posts have been on my bikes since back in 2010 when there were just a handful of designs being manufactured. In the 15 years since then, last season was the *first* that I had a dropper post (actually, it was two posts!) make it through an entire calendar year of riding without requiring *any* maintenance - both were Wolf Tooth Resolve Dropper Posts. How's that for reliability? These droppers are completely user-serviceable, but I haven't had to open one up yet (when the time comes for service, Wolf Tooth has 100-hr and full rebuild kits, individual repair parts, a how-to guide, and a video walkthrough on their website so you can do it yourself). And bikepacking with a dropper? If you're fortunate enough to have longer legs and ample tire clearance, go with a longer dropper so that you can still use at least some of the travel below where a seatbag straps around the post. 200 or 242mm lengths are my go-to for this, and if my seat bag is hefty enough to make the Resolve a bit sluggish to rise back up, I just add a bit more air pressure. #bikepacking #mtb #backcountrymtb #adventurecycling #righttorepair #wolftoothcomponents
