Aldrin is a West Point grad and flew 66 combat missions and took down two MiG-15 aircraft during the Korean War.  He was the second person to walk on the moon on 21 July 1969 after mission commander Neil Armstrong.  

In my mind, his most notable accomplishment was when a conspiracy theorist called the then-72 year old Aldrin “a coward, a liar, and a thief” and he gave him the ole knuckle sandwich right to the face, all caught on video.  As the kids say, he “found out.” Last of a dying breed.
